Madison Lobby Remodel
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Flad Architects took the opportunity to renovate the central portion of their office, creating a new interactive hub and reception area, perfect for office meetings, impromptu design charrettes, and presentations.
Pivotal removed existing compact fluorescent downlight pendants and refreshed the space with architecturally integrated lighting details that highlight new architectural elements and finishes. They located narrow linear slot luminaires in soffit details throughout the space to accentuate architectural forms and illuminate adjacent planes. The team concealed linear LED luminaires on the structural beams at the lower level, providing a base layer of ambient illumination for the decorative lighting elements they strategically placed in work areas and collaboration spaces. In these spaces, a combination of low-profile square pendants and wood pendants with colored interior accents plays off the backlit company logo.
As team members returned to work, the renovation met staff needs and facilitated collaboration and impromptu connectivity.
