The University of Texas at Austin
Robert B. Rowling Hall, McCombs School of Business

Pivotal’s architectural lighting design for this new business school encourages interaction and collaboration among students, faculty, staff, alumni, recruiters, interdisciplinary collaborators, and business leaders. Lighting design that supports complex programming while ensuring visitor wayfinding was essential for facilitating seamless interaction between the business school and the adjacent independent conference center.

Spaces facing the interior courtyard and layered roof terraces were designed to mimic the exterior. Selectively placed decorative elements provide accent and interest while giving the geode façade elements a sparkle.

Pivotal used the latest lighting technology to follow the university's conservative energy goals and facilities maintenance standards. The lighting controls adapt to the significant daylight entering the building, enhancing the efficiency of an already energy-efficient system.
