James B. Hunt Jr. Library

Pivotal provided lighting design and daylighting analysis for this academic library. A multipurpose academic facility, James B. Hunt Jr. Library's lighting design aligns with the architecture while providing functionality. The library features flexible lighting design solutions to accommodate meeting areas with varying needs.

Specialty accent lighting highlights the automated retrieval system, which provides quick access to literature collections housed in a three-story, computer-managed shelving system. The lighting design fosters a collaborative space in an energy-efficient, easily maintainable, and aesthetically pleasing manner.

The new James B. Hunt, Jr. Library will serve as the campus' central library and a representational workspace for the Institute for Emerging Issues and Chancellor’s Spaces. This iconic building addresses prominent space limitations and serves as a centerpiece and signature structure on the campus.
