740 Heinz Tenant Improvement

Aduro Biotech

Pivotal worked with Bay Area life science developer, Wareham Development, to design the architectural lighting for a new four-story, 110,800 square foot speculative research/office space in Berkeley. Pivotal coordinated with Wareham to anticipate future tenant needs, designing control systems to serve a variety of single or multiple-floor life science tenants requiring a mixture of offices and R&D labs.

Multidirectional light sources were selected for the project to provide functional adaptability and to meet illumination requirements for all working spaces. Pivotal worked closely with the architect and owner to ensure Aduro Biotech’s brand was carried throughout the project via the forms and finshes of each fixture, despite working a tight budget and limited fixture pallette.

The project was completed well below the stringent Title 24 lighting power density allowance, further reduced by a carefully designed and programmed networked lighting control system.
